Wilmington, NC. – Michael Lee announced today that he will support Thom Goolsby for the North Carolina Senate Seat that includes all of New Hanover County. Lee and Goolsby ran in a tough Republican primary last May. Mr. Goolsby, an attorney, now faces former UNCW Chancellor Jim Leutze in the November general election.
“I have met with Thom several times in the last few weeks and he has agreed that one of the first bills he will co-sponsor will be the NC GOP platform proposal that addresses medical malpractice tort reform.” Tort reform was one of the issues that Mr. Lee stressed during the primary campaign.
Lee also says that this year is an opportunity for Republicans to take control of the North Carolina Senate for the first time in over 120 years. “With a GOP majority, we can actually pass bills that will reverse the anti-business trends of the democrat controlled legislature of the past.”
Mr. Lee is working with other GOP candidates to help bring about full support to conservative, pro-business interests in North Carolina.
